Becoming a leader can be a challenging and rewarding journey. The important thing to keep in mind is that it is a PROCESS and it does take TIME. You will, no doubt, stumble along the way. You will make mistakes, but more importantly you will have great successes.
The Personal Leadership Worksheet (PWL) can guide on your AIS leadership journey. The goal of the Personal Leadership Worksheet is to prepare you to serve in your chapter, as well as gain knowledge and experience that you can use when interviewing for and starting a new job. Use it to help keep you on track and to help you celebrate your successes. We know that you may already be involved in a leadership program as part of your chapter, department, or school. That is okay! Use the PWL as another tool. Use the activities you are doing in other leadership roles to complete the tasks on your PWL. Feel free to adjust the worksheet to your program; add things as you see fit. Just use it! We recommend revisiting your worksheet at least once a month either on your own or with a faculty advisor or mentor.
We are here for you. If you get stuck, get lost, or need some direction, your chapter advisor, AIS staff, or your campus student activities or leadership office can help guide you.
