The AIS Annual Student Chapter Awards honor the accomplishments of the best AIS student chapters worldwide. Submitting your chapter’s annual report automatically enters you to win any of the chapter awards. The awards will be presented at the Annual AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference. Awards are made based on the student chapter annual reports.

Student Chapter of the Year
The Student Chapter of the Year Award is the highest award given to a student chapter that has demonstrated an exceptional, well-rounded, and organized program.
Best New Chapter
The Best New Chapter Award is given to the best chapter founded (or restarted) 15 months or less before the report due date.
Distinguished Student Chapter
The Distinguished Chapter Award recognizes chapters that have excelled in most of the areas of emphasis: professional development, membership, careers in IS, community service, fundraising, and communications.
Outstanding Student Chapter
The Outstanding Chapter Award recognizes deserving chapters that have done well in most of the areas of emphasis: professional development, membership, careers in IS, community service, fundraising, and communications.

Outstanding Professional Development (multiple recipients)
The outstanding professional development award will be given to a student chapter for excellence in
creating and offering professional development opportunities to their members.
Outstanding Membership Activities (multiple recipients)
The outstanding membership activities award will be given to a student chapter for excellence in recruiting members and in offering member services.
Outstanding “Careers in IS” (multiple recipients)
The outstanding “careers in information systems” award will be given to a student chapter that
successfully promotes the study or practice of information systems to high school students, or current
students in their home institution, or worldwide.
Outstanding Community Service (multiple recipients)
The outstanding community service award will be given to a student chapter that has made a major
contribution to their local community.
Outstanding Fiscal Responsibility (multiple recipients)
The outstanding fiscal responsibility award will be given to a student chapter that has created successful and
sustainable funding strategies for their chapter.
Outstanding Communications (multiple recipients)
The outstanding communications award will be given to a student chapter for excellence in
communicating with their stakeholders using websites, meetings, email, and other media.
