AIS Student Chapter Student Advisory Board (2025-2026)

Sydney Panak, President

Campus: Middle Tennessee State University

My name is Sydney Panak, and I am honored to serve as the President of the AIS Student Advisory Board this year! As a senior at Middle Tennessee State University majoring in Information Systems and Economics, with minors in Mathematics, Business Administration, and Honors, I am excited to represent students and strengthen our community.

Through AIS, I’ve had the chance to lead initiatives that bring people together and open doors for students. One highlight was competing on the team that won the 2023 AIS Software Innovation Challenge. This year, I’m focused on building connections across chapters and creating opportunities that actually make an impact for students both in and out of the classroom.

Molly Waldron, Vice President

Campus: University of Alabama

My name is Molly Waldron, and I am so excited to serve as the Vice President for the Student Advisory Board this year! I am so excited to represent students, build stronger connections between chapters, and create more opportunities for learning, networking, and career growth within my time in this role.

As a student at The University of Alabama, I had the privilege of helping host the 2025 AIS SCLC right on my own campus last spring. This impactful experience deepened my enthusiasm for communication, organization, and involvement within AIS, and it inspired me to become a voice for every student involved. I am truly passionate about the study and application of information systems as well as the success of every program we reach. I can’t wait to collaborate with fellow students and professionals to make a positive impact across our community.

Rohan Gupta, Director of Academics and Mentorship

Campus: Temple University

Hi! My name is Rohan Gupta and I am excited to serve as the Director of Academics & Mentorship of the AIS Student Advisory Board. A little about me, I am a Junior at Temple University studying Finance and MIS with a minor in Statistical Science and Data Analytics. Through my college career, I have realized the mass benefits of AIS and all it does for the community, as well as the vast types of jobs an MIS major can have. One of the main reasons why I wanted to join the board was because I recently went to the AIS SCLC in Alabama and had the opportunity to meet various individuals across a number of colleges. This made me realize just how big our network could be if we were able to join as one. One of the important factors of AIS is ensuring that each and every person is able to succeed, and that is where I come in. I plan to host multiple virtual help sessions as well as create a bank of information that might be able to help depending on the IS class. Also, if you or anybody you know is interested in being a mentor/mentee on a national level, email me at studentchapters@aisnet.org so we can maybe start a new program.

Howdy! My name is Peter John Phethean and I am psyched to serve as the Director of Membership on the AIS Student Advisory board! As a second year Master’s student at Brigham Young University, I am ready to serve all our chapters and help strengthen our connections between them. AIS as a club has been a huge boon for me, it introduced me to lifelong friends, helped with career opportunities, and helped find me a place where I felt like I belonged. I hope through this position I can extend my gratitude back to all of you and help our organization grow this year.
