Hotel & Travel

Participants of the AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference are responsible for all of their own travel expenses and accommodations. 

Airport

The following airports serve the JMU area. 

  • Dulles International Airport (IAD) - 2 hours 
  • Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO) - 1 hour and 10 minutes frpm campus
  • Shenandoah Valley Airport (SHD) - 25 minutes from campus.
  • Richmond Airport (RIC)- 2 hours from campus
  • Reagan International (DCA) - 2 hours from campus (note DC traffic can add significant time) 

Transportation

Dulles Bus Service 

The Virginia Breeze has two routes daily between Dulles and Harrisonburg. 

Rideshare 

Uber and Lyft are available. Estimated fare is $150-200. 

Car Rentals

SHD Shuttle 

If you are flying in to SHD, a shuttle is available for approximately $50.

Hotel Accommodations

The conference hotel will be the Hotel Madison.

If calling directly, please note that you are a participant of the JMU Student Leadership Conference 2026 room block to ensure your room is booked in the block at the special group rate.

The room block will be active until March 4th, 20206 (03/04/2026). Any remaining rooms in the block will be released by 5PM on the aforementioned cutoff date. The booking link provided below will give your guests access to your discounted rate of $169.
