David M. R. Dr. Jeannie L. Johnson is the Director of USU's Center for Anticipatory Intelligence and an Associate Professor in the Political Science Department at Utah State University. Dr. Johnson’s primary research interest, strategic culture, examines the impact of national and organizational cultures on the formation of security policy. Dr. Johnson co-founded the Center for Anticipatory Intelligence in 2018 with the vision of creating an interdisciplinary nexus that fuses expertise in national security and geopolitics with cutting-edge instruction in cyber threats, data analytics, and emergent technology. The CAI facilitates academic programs—including the nation's first undergraduate minor and graduate certificate in Anticipatory Intelligence—and engages in research and partnerships with government and industry.

Prior to her academic career, Dr. Johnson worked within the Central Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Intelligence as a member of the Balkan Task Force from 1998-1999 and served with the US State Department in Embassies Paris and Zagreb. The Cultural Topography analytic method she pioneered with co-author Matt Berrett was featured in CIA’s June 2011 edition of Studies in Intelligence.

Dr. Sharad Jones is a Professional Practice Assistant Professor of Data Analytics and Information Systems in the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Sharad earned his PhD in Statistics in 2021 at USU, where his dissertation was focused on Conditional Generative Adversarial Networks for multimodal scene generation. His current research interests are in multimodal Neural Networks, Ethical AI, and Transformers.

The GitHub Secure Code Game offers a fresh approach to learning secure coding for both students and developers. It's designed to be user-friendly for those who are already familiar with coding, allowing them to practice common coding activities such as reading code, identifying bugs, fixing them, and running tests. In this workshop, participants will tackle three coding challenges that require them to identify and address security vulnerabilities. Pre-requisite: you just need a (free) GitHub account.

The proposed workshop, "Unlocking Excellence: A Comprehensive Workshop on Managing AIS Chapter Operations, Recruiting, and Finances," led by Nicholas Bortz, Kelly Liu, and Pin-an (Ann) Chio of the Temple AIS executive board, aims to empower AIS chapters through key learning objectives. Participants will explore effective chapter operations management, covering event organization, internal communication best practices, and streamlined operations through technology. The workshop will also address recruitment strategies, focusing on target audience identification, engagement initiatives, and digital campaigns. Financial management will be a key focus, covering transparent financial systems, budget communication, event budgeting, and fundraising strategies. The goal is to equip AIS chapters with the tools and knowledge needed for efficiency, innovation, and sustained impact within the AIS community.
