Newsletter Sept 2024

Dear Members of SIG Advances in Sourcing,

As the last quarter of 2024 is at the doorstep, we want to share some news on developments in the SIG, awards, and conferences with you.

SIG Name Change: Please Vote

Following up on the discussion at last year’s annual meeting about changing the name of the SIG according to its evolved positioning, the SIG leadership team has initiated the formal renaming process with AIS. The proposed new name for our SIG is: AIS Special Interest Group (SIG) on “Digital Sourcing, Platforms, and Ecosystems”, abbreviated as DSPE. All members of the SIG should have received messages from SIG president Thomas Huber providing details on the rationale and the process.

We kindly ask for your support in this name change and the associated updates to the SIG’s statement of purpose and community activities. We therefore invite you to vote on this name change. The voting period is open for one week, from midnight EST on September 27, 2024, to October 4, 2024. On Sept 27, every current member of the SIG should have received a formal invitation to cast their vote on the renaming of the SIG via the AIS platform. Please make sure to vote.

Nominations for Early & Mid Career Award

The Early & Mid Career Award honors the most promising early to mid-career researcher in the focus areas of the SIG based on publications in leading IS journals. Candidates can be nominated by November 1, 2024, via the nominations website (link).
