Awards

The SIG Digital Sourcing and Platform Ecosystems (DSPE) recognizes outstanding achievements through three yearly awards.

AIS SIG DSPE Outstanding Leadership Award

The Outsourcing Leadership Award recognizes an individual for his/her contributions to the academic and practice of Digital Sourcing, Platforms, and Ecosystems. This individual must demonstrate leadership in the last 15 years both in terms of excellent academic publications and in terms of contributions to the academic community and practice of Digital Sourcing, Platforms, and Ecosystems, such as by organizing events, special issues, public speaking related to Digital Sourcing, Platforms, and Ecosystems, industry reports, consultancy work, or books for managers. The recipient of this award is selected by a committee, and the award is presented during the annual meeting of the SIG, usually in conjunction with ICIS.

AIS SIG DSPE Early and Mid Career Award

The AIS SIG DSPE Early and Mid Career Award recognizes individuals for excellent contributions to Digital Sourcing, Platforms, and Ecosystems research. Candidates must demonstrate highly regarded publications that inspire future Digital Sourcing, Platforms, and Ecosystems research. Moreover, candidates must have earned their Ph.D. degree no earlier than twelve years before the SIG event. We accept either self-nomination or a nomination by others using this form. Deadline for submission: November 1st, 2025. The recipient of this award is selected by a committee. The award is presented during the annual meeting of the SIG, usually in conjunction with ICIS.

AIS SIG DSPE Best Paper Award

The AIS SIG DSPE Best Paper Award recognizes recently published research on Digital Sourcing and/or Platform Ecosystems topic that has the potential to have a significant impact on theory and practice. Eligible for the award are papers with first online date of publication between September 2024 and October 2025. Papers can be nominated using this form. Deadline for submission: November 1st, 2025. The recipient of this award is selected by a committee. From 2025 onwards, the committee will consist of one member of the SIG DSPE leadership team and two external members. Formal recognition of the prize will take place during the annual meeting of the SIG, usually in conjunction with ICIS.
