What? The Artificial Intelligence workshop features research on a wide range of topics related to artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), robotic process automation (RPA) and generative AI including novel applications of algorithms (e.g., recommendation systems, information security analytics, healthcare, etc.), emerging types of AI agents (e.g., conversational agents, digital humans, etc.), and socio-economic aspects of AI, algorithms (e.g., ethical AI, biases in data and algorithms, impact on jobs, regulations, etc.) and applications. The workshop welcomes all research methods, including design science, behavioral, economics and empirical.

All aspects of AI, ML and RPA are of interest, including, but not limited to:

• Applications,
• Autonomic systems,
• Cognitive computing
• Cognitive knowledge acquisition and representation,
• Conversational AI,
• Generative AI
• Ethics and Privacy Issues
• Impact of AI systems on organizations,
• Internet of Things,
• Knowledge from data, text, audio, and video,
• Knowledge representation and management,
• Large Language Models
• Machine learning,
• Massive data language models,
• Multiple agent models,
• Natural language and cognitive assistance,
• Neural network applications,
• Ontologies, uses and applications,
• Question asking and answering,
• Smart advisor applications,
• Real world applications,
• Robotic Process Automation applications,
• Text mining

Researchers should submit their research for consideration for the workshop to Daniel E. O’Leary, oleary@usc.edu. Please use “SIG-AI Workshop” in the subject line. In order to be considered for presentation, papers should be submitted by October 17, 2025.

Presenters and attendees will be required to register for the workshop.

This workshop is sponsored by the special interest group of “Artificial Intelligence” – SIG-AI. For those interested, there will be a special issue of Wiley’s “Intelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance and Management,” which is indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (Clarivate Analytics - Impact Factor of 3.7 in 2024), INSPEC (IET), SCOPUS (Elsevier), The DBLP Computer Science Bibliography (University of Trier), Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), Google Scholar and other sources. There is no plan for a separate proceedings.

Completed research papers

Most of the presented research is expected to be completed research papers. Typically, these papers will be 20 – 40 pages, including references.

Research-in-progress papers
Submission of promising research, in its early stage, should take the form of a research-in-progress paper and be presented as an extended abstract of 2-3 pages.

Ph. D. Students
Historically, we have had a session devoted to research by Ph. D. students. Ph. D. students can submit either complete research papers or research-in-progress papers. Ph. D. students should indicate their status as a Ph. D. student.

IMPORTANT DATES
Submission Deadline: October 17, 2025
