THAIS 2nd event (Online): Healthcare Transformation

Date: 19 August 2021 Via Zoom

Healthcare is rapidly transforming after decades of relative inaction. Covid-19 has been a global wake-up call and catalyst for change.  Properly applied information technology and associated systems and processes are important aspects of the future.  Opportunities for research abound as we seek to better understand what has happened (and why) and, more importantly, look forward to helping define and create an environment in which we would all like to live and prosper that takes us from being reactive to proactive.  This talk would examine these issues.

Speaker: Professor Doug Vogel

Doug Vogel is Chair Professor of Information Systems (IS) and an Association for Information Systems (AIS) Fellow as well as AIS Past President and, currently, Director of the eHealth Research Institute as a State Specially Recruited Expert in the School of Management at the Harbin Institute of Technology in China. He is also an Australasian Institute of Digital Health Fellow and honorary co-chair for ICIS 2024 in Bangkok. Prof. Vogel has published widely and received over 18,000 citations and had a presence in over 100 countries. His research interests reflect a concern for encouraging efficient and effective utilization of computer systems in an atmosphere conducive to enhancing the quality of life with particular attention to healthcare and wellness.
