Welcome to SIG Data!
Data shape contemporary social, organizational, and technological life. This Special Interest Group (SIG) welcomes diverse sociotechnical perspectives on the nature of data and their lifecycles, including issues of generation, curation, stewardship, ethics, governance, and use, as well as the infrastructures and ecosystems through which data circulate. The SIG serves as a hub for scholars in Information Systems and related fields who approach data, data work, and data practices as primary objects of inquiry. Our goal is to cultivate a scholarly community, advance knowledge, research, and teaching in data studies, and translate research for impact to support practitioners, policymakers, and society as a whole.
