ICIS 2019: Hands-on Location Analytics Workshop Using of ArcGIS Online, Business Analyst, and Insights

Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing services, and advanced data analytics are the terms defining the present time. This workshop will introduce Web-based tools for GIS, location intelligence, business analytics, and visualization. 

The workshop focus will be to demonstrate how these tools can be leveraged in research and teaching in multiple business fields including retail, marketing, and decision support. Attendees with laptops can participate in hands-on demos. You will learn how and when to use three of ESRI’s premier web-based tools.

  • ArcGIS Online, an intuitive cloud platform that gives users the ability to build, visualize and analyze models across multiple disciplines. 
  • ArcGIS Business Analystwhich provides location-based intelligence for market planning, site selection, customer segmentation, and risk assessment. It provides tools and data, such as demographics, lifestyle, spending data, health, and education data, necessary to enhance prediction and decision-making with map-based analytics for accurate reports and dynamic presentations. Insights for ArcGIS, which is an online data analytics and visualization tool.
  • Insights for ArcGIS, part of the Esri Geospatial Cloud, blends location analytics with open data and business intelligence workflows. It helps to answer questions we didn’t know to ask, analyze data completely, and unlock new insights. It also empowers analysts of all skill levels, to directly connect data, and perform advanced analytics.

This workshop will also include keynote talks from Academia and Industry will highlight the emerging opportunities and issues in GIS and location analytics and discusses how these technologies can enable digital innovation.
