Digital Sourcing, Platforms and Ecosystems Workshop

The 17th Digital Sourcing, Platforms and Ecosystems Workshops (2026)

February 8th-11th, 2026

Obergurgl, Austria

Following the success of the past workshops (previously known as the Global Sourcing Workshop), we are pleased to release this Call for Papers for the 17th Digital Sourcing, Platforms and Ecosystems Workshop held February 8-11, 2026, in Obergurgl, Austria.

The workshop will aim to explore new and emerging topics within the spectrum of the Workshop themes and consequently identify new directions for research and practice. This workshop aims to bring together viewpoints from various disciplines, including Information Systems, International Business, Strategy, Operations Management and Organisational Behavior, relevant for digital sourcing, platforms and ecosystems.

Paper Track

We invite research articles and ‘focus on practice’ papers that investigate topics relating to digital sourcing, platforms and ecosystems. Some of the specific themes that are of interest in this workshop are:

·         Sourcing ecosystems

·         Digital platforms and ecosystems in the software industry

·         Crowdsourcing

·         Governance of digital platforms and ecosystems

·         Emerging technologies in sourcing, platforms and ecosystems (machine learning, artificial intelligence, blockchain)

·         Sustainability in the context of sourcing, platforms and ecosystems

We are interested in both empirical and conceptual papers.

Since 2010, we have been publishing selected papers as book chapters in Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (by Springer). We plan to publish another book to include selected papers from this workshop.
