Bio

Dawit Demissie received a Ph.D., in Informatics from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY). He earned an M.S. in Telecommunications & Network Management from Syracuse University and a B.A. in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Oswego.

Dawit Demissie is currently a clinical assistant professor at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. Previously he was an assistant professor of computer science at The Sage Colleges, where he received the faculty of the year award for Excellence in Teaching and Academic Advising. He was also a visiting assistant professor at the College of Engineering & Applied Sciences, University at Albany, State University of New York, receiving the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2011 and 2015. Dawit has also served as a Lecturer/Instructor/Course Developer at the State University of New York at Oswego, Hudson Valley Community College, Excelsior College, Kennesaw State University, The Sage Colleges, Syracuse University, The University of Oklahoma, and Siena College. He has also been a software engineer and a systems consultant at various organizations in New York.

Dawit has published and presented in major journals and conference proceedings. His research interests include use/adoption/impact of ICTs, e-Gov, Analytics and data science, AI/Machine learning. He has several articles under review. He is a constant reviewer for several international conferences in the information systems and information/computer science discipline.
