Covid-19 made it so clear that economy cannot flourish without people; a fact that we for so long advocated in IS.  This year, I am planning to change my assessments to bring in the vulnerable into a centre stage.  I think it is time for students to have assignments to demonstrate software to less advantaged groups (elderly, people with disabilities, terminally ill and with major illnesses, less educated, non-IT savvy, digitally excluded people) and digitally delayed sectors such as charities and small businesses. From my experience, these groups not only need different ways of designing but also different ways of requirement analysis, demonstrating software capabilities and training.  I am including creating manuals for the perplexed, video demonstration at a humane pace, plan for elderly training, requirements elicitations for non-IT savvy.  I am also bringing in cases on BAME (Black, Minority and Ethnic) and is encouraging students to reflect on their culture and ways of doing business.

    What is your plan?
